Project: ABA Centers of America Timeline Wall Mural

The Overview:

Taylor Visual Group partnered with ABA Centers of America to create a custom wall mural for their new company offices. The project involved designing, printing, and installing a large-scale graphic on a challenging, circular conference room wall.

The Challenge:

While visually impressive, the new construction of the conference room presented several significant hurdles. The room’s circular wall was 75 feet in circumference, but the floor and ceiling were not plumb, with height variations of up to three inches. The design itself was also highly complex, featuring a radial gradation and a crucial line of repeating copy that had to align perfectly as it wrapped around the entire room and met at the door.

Our Solution:

Taylor Visual Group’s deep experience in visual installations allowed us to immediately identify these challenges and develop a strategic plan.

  • Design for Imperfection: We designed the artwork with additional “bleed” to accommodate the changing wall height, ensuring the final graphic would fit seamlessly despite the structural imperfections.
  • Rethinking Installation: We re-engineered the standard installation process. Instead of working from the top down, we began from the floor up, using the line of repeating copy as our guide to ensure perfect alignment throughout the entire circumference.
  • Remote Collaboration: Our team worked remotely with the on-site installer in Florida, providing real-time support and problem-solving to address issues as they arose.

The Result:

Despite the numerous complexities, the project was a resounding success. Taylor Visual Group delivered a flawless, high-quality mural that transformed the conference room into a stunning visual centerpiece. The project stands as a testament to our ability to handle intricate, demanding installations with expertise, precision, and innovative problem-solving.

“It seems straightforward, but once you get into the intricacies of some of these projects, you quickly discover that it’s a lot more complicated than it seems,” said Chad Taylor, President, Taylor Visual Group. “Taylor Visual Group is used to identifying these problems and finding solutions because of our past experience.”
